This tweet made me think quite a bit. Looking at my twitter feed, it feels like the longer you've been coding professionally, the less you actually like coding. For people who've been coding for 10+ years, is this how you feel? — Saron (@saronyitbarek) December 29, 2017 I am restoring a house. I have been in touch with quite a bunch of masons for more than a year. I never heard any of them saying “I like manipulating cement” or “I like plastering walls”.

On Learning to Code as a Shortsighted Goal

These days there is buzz around the idea that everybody should learn how to code. Far from feeling that as a threat for my career, lately I have come to realize that learning to code is just a small step. Once you are able to code, you are still missing out a lot of stuff. Ask yourself: what are you coding for? Sure, you can get a job in a company, push code to a repository and get payed.
